Intake and Oufall Line at Ghubrah Desalination Plant

Consolidated Union Contracting (CUC) successfully executed the marine works for the seawater intake and outfall system of the Al Ghubrah Independent Water Project in Muscat, Oman. The project involved the complete design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of critical marine infrastructure required for the desalination facility.

The Scope of Work:

  • Design and execution of the intake and outfall pipeline system
  • HDPE welding and installation of marine pipelines
  • Supply and installation of concrete anchor/ballast blocks
  • Offshore dredging and trench excavation works
  • Installation of intake and outfall pipelines
  • Hydrostatic testing and commissioning of the complete system

Project Highlights:

  • Intake Pipeline: 3,220m length with an OD of 1838mm
  • Outfall Pipeline: 1,068m length with an OD of 2053mm
  • Complete marine construction works delivered from design through commissioning

The successful completion of the project demonstrates CUC’s expertise in large-diameter HDPE pipeline installation, marine construction, dredging operations, and desalination plant infrastructure across Oman.
